Judy Taylor


Judy Haven Taylor Tyler, 63, of 111 Tillmon Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 9, 2010, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Born in Alabama, she was the wife of Steve Wayne Tyler and daughter of the late Dowell Oneal Taylor and Lucy Handy Taylor. She was employed by Newark and was a member of United Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Mrs. Tyler was very active in Relay for Life.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Jerry Wayne Atkinson II and wife, Stephanie, and Jeremy Scott Shelton and wife, Tonya, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Lisa Atkinson Hinson and husband, James, of Chesnee; four brothers, Jerry Haden Taylor, Ray Dowell Taylor, both of Gaffney, Billy Taylor and wife, Sarah, of Ridgeway and Virginia and Bobby Taylor of Cocoa, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Clark of Myrtle Beach; and four grandchildren, Shana Rae Hinson, Taylor Beth Hinson, Haven Shelton and Stacy Nicole Christian.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Clem Taylor.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 12, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at United Baptist Church, 7319 Valley Falls Road, Spartanburg, with the Revs. Robert Carnell and Jack Weaver officiating.
